Well, something of a melancholy way to start the New Year, but sadly it’s true that nothing lasts forever. That said, it’s probably fair to say that no-one expected the biggest door manufacturer in the UK to close its doors for the last time with the consequence that around 400 people are trying to find alternative employment in these difficult times. And as is often the case, while the workforce is not to blame, it is they who will be most anxious about the future.
Such cases highlight the age old problem of becoming too good to be true – normally, if something is too good to be true, then it isn’t true! Prior to being bought, Leaderflush was the clear market leader – setting the standard that others had to follow. And that success was largely down to the quality of their workforce.
Enfield Doors – the Alternative to Leaderflush
Of course, given the nature of the supply/demand dynamic, the same amount of specialist doors will still be required to be made in the UK, and from a capacity perspective Enfield Speciality Doors are very well placed to take on any extra work. One knock-on effect of this will mean increasing the number of skilled staff at their two acre site in Enfield.
