Our acoustic doors are suitable for all sectors
There are many situations and locations that may require the installation of acoustic, or sound blocking doors. Logically, any facility or building that requires sound to be separated from people, places or things to insure privacy, safety or productivity, but still must allow physical passage between two or more locations, will need this type of door.
Here are some examples of the types of location where soundproof doors may be required:
Recording studios
In an audio recording studio, the acoustic door serves a special purpose – unwanted noise needs to be avoided for a successful recording session. Likewise, people outside of the studio may not want to be disturbed by the creations taking place within!
Theatres
Dramatic renditions, or musical performances, on stage are far more enjoyable without the accompanying sound of the traffic, or roadworks, outside the theatre, or the conversation of people in theatre lobbies and such!
Cinemas
We all enjoy the big, loud sounds of a film soundtrack, or dramatic dialogue, when watching the latest blockbuster in our local cinema. We don’t however, want to be treated to the conflicting sounds of the film being watched in the adjoining screen of our multiplex facility!
Schools / universities
In buildings where there are multi-functional rooms being utilised simultaneously – like classrooms or lecture theatres, then noise management and separation are necessary.
Hospitals
There are often very personal, emotional and private conversations being held in various hospital rooms, as well as professional discussions and, of course, operating theatres and treatment rooms where noise management is essential.
Hotels
In any building with multiple rooms for individual, personal use, then noise management is important. There may be function rooms within the building hosting parties and events until the early hours, and these cannot be allowed to disturb the other occupants using the building.
Commercial offices
There are often confidential discussions taking place in corporate offices – information concerning product development, business strategy or human resources issues, where privacy and confidentially is important.
How sound blocking doors work
Sound blocking doors have seals in order to prevent sound penetrating around the door edges. All of our acoustic doors are made to order, so we cater for any size required. This is important, as most of our soundproof doors are designed and manufactured pre-hung in appropriate frames and fitted as complete units.
Some acoustic doors can be fitted with glass panels – these can have an impact on the performance of the doors so the size, and type, of glass has to be carefully considered, especially if the door is to meet required standards for both acoustic and fire safety certification. Ideally, you will want an acoustic door that has been Quiet Mark approved – this is an industry recognized symbol of quality and excellence.
